Top 5...Most Under Appreciated Male Vocalists
In the spirit of "High Fidelity" and in an attempt to spark some controversy I've decided to start an ongoing series of blogs of my "Top 5's." I would say that these are my top 5 favorites, but that wouldn't spark any controversy because you can't argue that someone's opinion is wrong (unless they're a Democrat....ooooh, ZING!!). That being said here are the current top 5 most under appreciated male vocalists currently active:
5. Rufus Wainwright
4. Amos Lee
3. Jamie Cullum
2. Joshua Radin
1. Martin Sexton
Disclaimer: If you haven't heard of some of these people it's because they are UNDER APPRECIATED...c'mon, pay attention. Feel free to comment and tell me what a moron I am and how little I know about music (both of which can be adequately argued), and tell me how vastly superior your list would be. That being said...I'm right and you're wrong.

Flattered as I'm sure this Russell Bowen is, he may be the ONLY under appreciated vocalist on that list. Last I checked, the rest are all multi-millionaires.

I love Top 5 Lists...
1. Ben Folds
2. The Lead Singer from Our Lady Peace
3. The Dude Who Sings for Postal Service / Death Cab
4. Ryan Miller of Guster
5. Dave Matthews
I put Dave on there at #5 because he may be rich and famous, but I don't think he gets enough credit for his voice - which basically serves as a sixth musical instrument in the band. His scats, high-low warbles, and wails are unbelieveable - and often underappreciated.
Also - I think the fact that I don't know the name of two of the people on my list is the very definition of "unknown".
