R.I.P. Anna Begins

As many of you know, I have had a long-standing, one-sided love affair with Counting Crows. Adam Duritz is one of my all time favorite song writers (though he is a prick of the first order), and Anna Begins was my favorite song of all time...was. My new obsession...Fix You by Coldplay. What an amazing song. It starts off with an old pipe organ playing a slow melody and a very simple vocal progression. Then, out of nowhere, a great guitar solo kicks everything into high gear. Next, an amazing FOUR PART HARMONY from every member of the band...I think that's what did it for me, I was spent after hearing that. After smoking a cigarette and drinking a bottle of water to rehydrate myself I'm ready to listen to the song all over again. My only fear is that this song may become a single and get overplayed...becoming a whore for the masses. Se la vie. If you don't have X&Y, get it. That's all I got.
Much Love,
Bo
P.S. Is it just me or did everyone else forget what a great CD Barenaked Ladies' "Rock Spectacle" is?
